KvK Signing Certificates for Export Documents

As a result of the DigiNotar crisis, KvK (the Chamber of Commerce) requires all DigiNotar digital certificates, which were used to sign export documents, to be replaced with QuoVadis certificates.

The KvK will use, as a (semi-) governmental organization, the PKI Overheid certificates. There are two major options for the filing of export documents, namely:

1. Companies use the KvK Portal 
2. Companies use intermediaries (ExportData or Stratech)

Companies use the KvK Portal

Companies who use the KvK Portal to file export documents should apply to QuoVadis for a PKI Overheid “Persoongebonden Organisatie” Certificate.

Companies use the portal of an intermediary

Companies that use an intermediary to file their export documents should confirm with their service provider which type of certificate they should use. QuoVadis has already made agreements with several intermediaries relating to QuoVadis certificate and the correct application procedures.
